THE DOLLYS:  Barbara Kerr and Debbi Whyte

Picture
Barbara Kerr and Debbi Whyte are and were the sisters of Sandwich. The Dolly’s (from Hello Dolly) were inseparable in the summer.  The beach was their happy place, and the Historical Society and gardening their joyful jobs!  To see daffodils and lilies peeking out around the Historical Society, around stone walls. and along the various fences on Main Street was a salute to the Johnson sisters and their love of the town. Old Home Week, Sandwich Fair, greeting at the Historical Society and summer beach afternoons were plentiful.  The lake was their exercise as well as their fellowship. Debbi is now “tucked in “on Elm Street, and her sister is still by her side living in and loving Sandwich for both of them.
