"OUR WOMEN OF SANDWICH"
(2020 Summer Exhibit)
PAMELA R. ELLIOTT
1944-2014
Pamela Read (Ball) Elliott was born in Winchester, MA on May 23, 1944 to Patricia (Mudgett) and Littleton Ball. In September 1961 she married Ray Elliott in Brownfield Maine, and they raised five children in Sandwich. Pam was active in the community from the Ladies Aid Society to the Community Church of Sandwich and the Sandwich Historical Society. She worked in Special Education for 30 years, most of which at Inter-Lakes High School in Meredith, NH.
When you think about the ‘Women of Sandwich,’ you think of Pam Elliott with her dedication, spirit, and energy wherever she was. How we miss her smile! Pam loved the town of Sandwich and was deeply involved in the community in all aspects. Pam was a mentor to people of all ages and was an advocate for children. She was a Girl Scout leader, a Sunday School teacher, and a member of the Sandwich Woman’s Club, Sandwich Historical Society and Sandwich Fair Association. She also helped organize the Quimby School reunion and Sandwich Fair parade for many years. She ran the Doris L. Benz Community Center and was involved in Old Home week. Where Pam was involved – the work got done!
Pam was involved in everything Sandwich. She raised five children while being a wife, mother, and special education teacher’s aide at Inter-Lakes High School where she was involved with The Boosters Club, after prom chem-free party and after school programs.
Pam was a community member we all strive to be.
