“Walking Back
in Time Along the Sandwich Notch Road.”
Like the excursions of old, this half-day tour begins at 9 a.m.
at Cook's Field at the Intervale with stops at the site of the
Penn School, the Smith Farm Cemetery, Devil’s Footprint, Pulpit
Rock, Beede Falls Town Park and Cow Cave, proceeding down Cow
Cave Trail to the Intervale for an eighteenth-century picnic
catered by Suzanne and featuring live fiddle music. There will
be speakers at each of the six stops and at the Intervale. Space
is limited so don’t wait to make reservations by calling Suzanne
at [603] 284-6660. Suggested donation is $10 per person; checks
should be made payable to the Sandwich Historical Society.
Donations will be given to the Sandwich Conservation Commission
towards its ongoing restoration effort at Beede Falls. Proper
footwear and attire for hiking required.

"Digitizing for Small and Medium Sized Collections".
Session 1: The Pressure to digitize - A panel discussion by archivists
from different sized institutions
Session 2: Digitizing with new tools - presentation by Kara Young of
Keene State College
Session 3: Designing work flow for digitization projects - presentation
by Jen Green from Plymouth State University
Cost is $20 for NHAG members, seniors, and students or $25 for
non-members. At the Doris L. Benz Community Center, 18 Heard Rd, Center
Sandwich, NH. The Sandwich Historical Society is hosting this event.

Meeting. Potluck dinner at 6:00 followed by the meeting at 6:45

"Christmas in the Village"
The museum shop will be stocked with local history books as well as
toys, maps, ornaments, calendars, and more. The exhibit room will again
have various vendors with items for the holiday season. The Bearcamp
Valley Garden Club will have bulbs available for sale. Anne-Marie
Selinger is selling Swedish Apple pies and assorted jams and jellies.
Gil Rodgers will have his carved wood chains. Karen Benoit will be
selling handmade baskets and fleece. |
